AAC's inaugural Young Leaders Symposium will introduce Asian American students and young professionals to leadership and service in the public sector. The symposium will feature speakers and workshops on topics such as running for office, understanding how a bill becomes law, careers in government, Asian American representation in politics, and more.
Asian Americans continue to be heavily underrepresented in government. At the same time, there are over 15,000 Asian American college students, and more than 1,500 Asian American members of young professional networks, in the Greater Boston area. Through the Symposium, the Commission seeks to identify and support the development of future Asian American leaders. The Commission will be providing full scholarships for all participants accepted to attend the Symposium; students and young professionals alike are encouraged to apply. The Commission will also solicit extensive feedback on this inaugural Symposium to improve its future programming.
